Fall Registration going on Now!

Volunteer Coaches are needed for our Fall 2010 Youth Athletic programs.

Effective July 21, 2010 the Oconee Veterans Park Community Center will have the following new hours:

Monday - Saturday 8 a.m. - 9 p.m. and Sunday 1 - 9 p.m.

Now OPEN - Herman C. Michael Park has a new Playground! Check out SPLOST pennies at work!

The Oconee Veterans Park soccer platform will be closed beginning Monday, May 24 until further notice due to maintenance projects.

The Herman C. Michael Park NEW Playground
is Officially Open!

The play structure is designed for 5 – 12 years; however, we added several 2 – 5 year and ADA components. It includes a World of Fun Custom centerpiece unit, Custom Xscape unit, standing see saw, seated see saw, musical play elements, rockscape climber and swings.

Accessible features added were the Zero-G swing chairs, stockcar with wheelchair transfer and ADA Gizmo panel. Other components include four play panels, thunder ring, hand cycler, talk tubes and a train whistle. It also has new curbing, new wood fiber landing surface and meets all nationally recognized safety standards.
